PCDC provides the usual services common to most PCB Design companies, such as schematic, gerber, and netlist generation, and we keep in close touch with our customers throughout the design process. EXPERIENCE - IPC Certified (CID+), we specialize in supporting R & D efforts, and our experience includes single-sided, double-sided, and multilayer boards, through hole and SMT, all related documentation, including schematics, assembly, and fabrication drawings, and we provide you with all computer files upon completion of your project. FLEXIBILITY - Especially in R & D, it is difficult for an engineer to have ALL related information complete before beginning the board design process, and we assist you in this area. We take your preliminary data, identify and gather missing information, including both component and manufacturing data sheets, and e-mail or fax that information to you for verification as we continue the design process. CONVENIENCE - We use the power of the internet to communicate with our customers at their convenience. We can send and receive information via e-mail, fax, or modem file transfer. An especially convenient service can be found on our customers page. This page links each customer to their own password protected area, where we leave check files for download. With one click on the file you need, it is downloaded to your computer. The files can be in their native program format, or we can supply the files in Adobe Acrobat® format, which makes them readable on any computer. (This download feature is only utilized if the engineer wishes to use it. Also, a copy of Adobe Acrobat® for either Windows or Macintosh is available on that page.) In addition, our knowledge of PCB fabrication processes allows us to communicate directly with the board house. We interface with the fabricator during the design process to clarify their unique requirements. If desired we can also follow the board through fabrication, giving you the option of turning the production phase over to us as well. RELIABILITY - We use OrCAD and P-CAD as our primary board design tools, and AutoCad for 2-D mechanical drawings. OrCAD and PCAD utilize a sophisticated system of design rule checks, and create schematic-driven designs, ensuring the reliability of your end product. For this reason, we recommend creating databases using schematics, but as mentioned elsewhere, we will accept a readable netlist as well. EFFICIENCY - With our combined experience of 17 years in PCB design, we know the importance of "cost-awareness." We strive for the lowest reasonable layer count, and will also go to very dense single-sided designs if necessary and applicable to the project. In all cases, we design for efficiency and ease of fabrication, keeping your costs down. |
